Description:
The Parent Resource Center offers an eight-week program designed to enhance parenting skills for parents with infants, toddlers, school-aged children, and adolescents. The program provides pratical information that can be incorporated into every day parenting in an effort to keep children and families safe.
Counselors use a supportive approach to teach concrete skills helping families face the challenges of parenting. Topics focus on, discipline techniques, commuication skills, problem solving, life skills management, ADHD series, and critical thinking. Services include ongoing groups and workshops including infant parenting, toddler/preschoolers parenting, school age parenting. All services are free and voluntary. Through the resource center, parents can access:
- Counseling services for individuals and families
- Support groups for parents
- Parent enrichment workshops
- Parent training classes
- Books, videos and other information focusing on parenting skills
