Organization:
Hispanic Family Center of Southern NJ
Description:
The importance of ensuring linkages and referrals to primary health and mental healthcare in particular cannot be overstated. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the prevalence of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders is estimated to impact over 8.9 million people nationally; only 7.4% of those individuals receive treatment for both conditions, with 55.8% receiving no treatment at all.*
The Hispanic Family Center provides behavioral health services to the community, and has for more than three decades. The organization works with a complement of community partners to provide a continuum of care for individuals seeking to recover from alcohol, drug, tobacco, or other addictions. As a multi-service provider, the Hispanic Family Center prides itself on its ability to provide “wrap-around support” services to its consumers.
